CALLING ALL SINGERS
We are thrilled to be able to add some new faces to our Beyond Measure family for the 2023 - 20234season! We are currently auditioning for all singing parts including bass and vocal percussion. See the instructions and FAQ for more info!
Your audition will consist of two videos of you singing that are each roughly 30 seconds in length.
For your audition, pick two, contrasting pop songs (please no musical theater) that showcase your talent the best. In your video please state your name, the part you sing, and the songs you will be singing. Videos should be a cappella.
Upload your video with both songs to YouTube as Unlisted and then send us the the link through the form above! (Please include both songs in one video).
WHEN AND WHERE ARE AUDITIONS?
Auditions for the 2023 - 2024 season will be through video submission. Audition submissions will open until all spots are filled.
IS BEYOND MEASURE AN OFFICIAL BYU PERFORMING GROUP?
Beyond Measure functions completely independent from Brigham Young University and is led by alumni volunteers from previous years.
DO I NEED TO BE A FULL-TIME, BYU STUDENT TO AUDITION FOR BEYOND MEASURE?
No. Although members are typically full-time BYU students, this is no longer a requirement to audition for Beyond Measure; however, we do require all members to agree to live the BYU Honor Code.
WHAT PARTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for all parts including vocal percussion.
ARE THERE ANY FEES?
Each member is expected to donate $200 per semester (Fall and Winter only) to help cover costs for the group. This year, 100% of membership donations will go towards the production of a hymns album that will be released in the spring.
CAN I JUST DO IT FOR ONE SEMESTER?
As a performing group, each member is extremely important. Losing even one member is extremely difficult for the group and detrimental to goals that the group is working to achieve. We require a full-year commitment from all members and a $150 early exit fee to those who decide to leave the group early.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT IF I MAKE IT IN?
You can expect anywhere between six to nine hours of rehearsal weekly plus any additional time spent on practicing, performances, or group activities.
